Facial Balancing & Full Face Fillers in Singapore

When patients ask about “full-face filler”, I usually clarify what they actually mean. For me, full-face treatment does not mean adding filler everywhere.

It means looking at the relationship between different facial features — the temples, cheeks, under-eyes, chin, jawline, and lower face — and deciding whether selected areas need additional structural support.

Sometimes only one or two areas need to be treated. The ultimate aim is facial balance, not simply more volume.

Looking at the face from both the front and side

Facial Balancing & Full Face Fillers Singapore: What It Means

Facial balancing looks at how different parts of the face relate to one another from both the front and the side. A feature may look out of balance because it is genuinely under-projected, but it may also look different because another part of the face has changed.

This is why I do not assess individual features in isolation. I evaluate:

Forehead and temples
Mid-face and cheeks
Under-eye support
Nose-to-chin relationship
Chin projection
Jawline angles
Lower-face proportions
Selected treatment, not filler everywhere

Full-Face Filler Planning | Facial Balancing & Full Face Fillers Singapore

This is an important distinction. A full-face assessment may result in treatment to only a few carefully selected areas.

For example, one patient may mainly need improvement in chin projection to balance their profile. Another may benefit more from restoring mid-face support. Someone with significant facial hollowing may require a different approach from someone whose face already has adequate volume.

More filler is not automatically better.

What guides treatment planning

What Do I Assess?

To determine which changes would make the biggest difference to the face as a whole, I break the assessment down into several core components:

Facial Structure

I look at the relationship between the cheeks, chin, jawline, and mid-face. These anchor points dictate the overall shape and proportions of the face.

Volume Distribution

Ageing and weight changes alter where facial volume sits. Some areas may become hollow, like the temples, while others appear heavier, like the jowls.

Profile (Side View)

I assess the face from the side as well as from the front. Chin projection, lip position, nose projection, and jawline shape all influence profile harmony.

Facial Symmetry

Almost every face has some natural asymmetry. The aim is not necessarily to create perfect, artificial symmetry, but to understand whether a specific asymmetry is contributing to your concern.

Skin and Tissue Laxity

Not every facial imbalance is a filler problem. If tissue laxity is the main issue, tightening or collagen-based treatments may be more relevant than adding volume.

Strategic support in selected anatomical zones

Areas Commonly Treated | Facial Balancing & Full Face Fillers Singapore

Depending on the assessment, dermal filler may be strategically placed in selected anatomical zones to restore harmony.

Facial Area Common Imbalance Treatment Objective
Temples Hollowing, creating a narrow upper face Restore a smooth transition from the forehead to the cheekbones
Mid-Face & Cheeks Flatness, lack of projection or support Provide central structural support and alleviate under-eye shadowing
Chin Under-projection, weak profile Improve the nose-to-chin ratio and elongate a round face
Jawline & Pre-Jowl Soft angles, blending into the neck Create a sharper separation between the face and neck; camouflage jowls
Lips & Perioral Thinning, lack of support Balance the lower third of the face with the upper features

Dermal fillers are used for selected facial areas and indications; the U.S. FDA also advises patients to discuss the intended injection site, product and associated risks with an appropriately trained healthcare provider.

Two related but distinct goals

Balancing vs Volumisation | Facial Balancing & Full Face Fillers Singapore

These are not exactly the same thing.

Facial Volumisation

This approach focuses primarily on replacing or adding volume where fat pads have depleted.

Facial Balancing

By contrast, facial balancing looks more broadly at proportion, projection, and structural support.

Someone can have relatively good facial volume but still benefit from an adjustment to one structural feature, like the chin.

Similarly, someone with significant volume loss may need broad restoration before the refinement of finer facial proportions is even considered.

When adding volume may not address the main problem

When Filler May Not Be the Main Answer | Facial Balancing & Full Face Fillers Singapore

I am cautious about simply adding volume in the following scenarios:

Significant Skin Laxity

Adding filler does not directly tighten loose tissue. If laxity or tissue descent is the main concern, I will consider energy-based tightening devices instead.

An Already Full Face

If a patient has heavy lower-face volume, injecting additional filler can make the face appear wider, heavier, or over-filled.

Advanced Tissue Descent

There are limits to what an injectable treatment can achieve. Filler is not a substitute for a surgical facelift.

Poor Skin Quality

Enlarged pores, pigmentation, dehydration, and rough texture require skin boosters or lasers, not structural fillers.

Why pricing varies

Cost Factors | Facial Balancing & Full Face Fillers Singapore

Because facial balancing is a highly customized, multi-area treatment, there is no single fixed price. The total cost is determined by the specific type of dermal fillers used (e.g., hyaluronic acid vs. biostimulators) and the exact number of syringes (ml) required to achieve the necessary structural support and projection. Treating a single feature like the chin may only require 1-2 syringes, whereas comprehensive full-face restoration often requires more. Common questions

Frequently Asked Questions | Facial Balancing & Full Face Fillers Singapore

Can dermal filler lift a sagging face?

Filler can sometimes improve the appearance of support in selected areas, such as the cheeks or jawline, by restoring underlying structure. However, dermal filler does not physically tighten loose skin. If your primary concern is sagging, energy-based lifting treatments are usually required alongside, or instead of, fillers.

How many syringes of filler do I need for full-face balancing?

This varies drastically from patient to patient. A younger patient looking for minor profile adjustments, like the lips and chin, might only need 2 to 3 syringes. An older patient requiring comprehensive structural restoration across the temples, mid-face, and jawline may require significantly more. My approach is always to use the minimum amount necessary to achieve a balanced, natural result.

What is profile balancing? | Facial Balancing & Full Face Fillers Singapore

Profile balancing is a specific subset of facial balancing that focuses on how your face looks from the side view. It typically involves assessing the alignment of the forehead, nose, lips, and chin to ensure they are in harmonious proportion to one another.
